What does it mean to be saved?
Being born again, getting saved, receiving salvation, inheriting eternal life are all terms which simply refer to making a decision to follow God. It's realizing that being in charge of your own life has not brought all the peace and happiness you thought it would. And, then making a conscious decision to let God take charge of your life.
Is it possible to get saved on the Internet? Or asked another way, how powerful is God anyway? We believe that God is indeed powerful and that He can easily save someone on the Internet. If God could save Paul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-30) He can certainly save one of us on the Super Information Highway.
Let's take a look at four short references in the Bible. If you have a Bible, you might want to follow along in Romans, the sixth book of the New Testament.
- Yes, all have sinned; and all fall short of God's glorious ideal. Romans 3:23
- The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
- But God showed his great love for us by sending Jesus to die for us while we were yet sinners. Romans 5:8
- If you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your own heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
If you would like to accept the promise of being saved which God has so generously made to us, simply repeat the following prayer:
Dear God: I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for my sins so that when God looks at me, He sees only Jesus. I accept the sacrifice of Jesus for my sins and now believe that I am now a child of God. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
